Privacy Statement

The foundation Stichting Festival Classique, hereinafter referred to as Festival Classique, with its office at Binckhorstlaan 36 (M2-06), 2516 BE The Hague, is responsible for the processing of personal data as described in this privacy statement. Festival Classique attaches great importance to the protection of the personal data of its visitors and the security thereof. This statement explains which data Festival Classique collects and for which purpose. We will process your personal data in accordance with the legislation on the processing of personal data, including the provisions of the General Regulation on Personal Data (in Dutch: algemene verordening persoonsgegevens) and the Implementing Act for the General Regulation on Personal Data (in Dutch: uitvoeringswet algemene verordening persoonsgegevens). Which data do we collect, for which purpose and for how long?

  • Purchases

When you buy tickets through the Festival Classique website, your e-mail address will be recorded in our system. The tickets purchased online will be sent to you by e-mail and in the event of loss of the e-mail, the tickets can be looked up in the system by an employee and printed out using the details provided. The purchased ticket will be scanned for verification before the start of the performance. The basis for the processing of this personal data is the execution of our agreement with you for the purchase of the tickets.

When you make a purchase, we also ask for your address details. This data is collected as part of a visitor survey carried out by The Hague Marketing. Naturally, we will treat this information confidentially. We will only use the information for research purposes and will not send any unsolicited advertising.

When you purchase tickets at the festival box office during Festival Classique, we do not process any personal data.

How long do we keep this data?
We will keep your purchase details for one month after your visit. In case you have given us permission to process preferences and send newsletters, we will keep them until you withdraw your permission.

  • Newsletter

If you leave your details to keep up to date with Festival Classique news and various offers, we will inform you via our e-mail newsletter. If you no longer wish to receive information, you may unsubscribe at any time via the unsubscribe link in the e-mail newsletter. In that case, you will no longer receive newsletters from us.

It is important to us that our information and offers are relevant to you. This means that in some cases we may ask for your preferences and process certain data such as name, gender, address, place of residence and e-mail address, if provided. We also analyse clicking behaviour in our newsletters and on our websites. The basis for processing this data is the legitimate interests of Festival Classique in order to improve our product, newsletter and marketing and to provide clear and targeted information to those who have expressed an interest in Festival Classique. Your consent is also a basis for our processing.

How long do we keep this data?
We retain your details for newsletters until you withdraw your consent. However, if you have not opened any e-mails for a year, we will consider your registration to be inactive and your personal data will be erased.

  • Questions, remarks and complaints

When you contact Festival Classique by e-mail, post or telephone, we may ask your personal details if this is required to process your question, remark or complaint. We will only use this data for this purpose. The basis for processing this personal data is the execution of the agreement with you, Festival Classique’s legitimate interest in the circumstances of the case and/or your consent.

  • Cookies

Our website uses cookies. Cookies are small text files that are sent through the browser to your computer, tablet or phone. They ensure, for example, that you do not have to enter the same information every time you visit our site. Our website also makes use of “tracking cookies”. We use these cookies to keep track of which pages are visited in order to gain insight into the online behaviour of our visitors. In the cookie dashboard, you can indicate which cookies may be placed by Festival Classique.nl. Please note: first change your cookie preferences in your browser and then visit our website again.

With whom do we share personal data?

Festival Classique treats personal data with the utmost care and will never sell or rent it out. We may share personal data with carefully selected third parties engaged by Festival Classique for the performance of our services or that make data analyses for us, for instance, a payment processor for online payments or a party that assists us in our marketing activities. No data will be shared with third parties outside the European Union.

What rights do I have when personal data is processed

  • Right of access and rectification

You have the right to ask us to provide access to your personal data and/or rectify, supplement, erase or restrict the data.

A request for access and/or rectification to Festival Classique may be submitted by e-mail. You may send that e-mail to festival@festivalclassique.nl. If you are under 16, such requests must be made by your parent (or legal representative). Therefore, the response will be sent to the parent (or legal representative). Festival Classique will respond to such requests as soon as possible, but not later than within four (4) weeks.

  • Right to object

At all times, you may object to the use of personal data for marketing purposes by sending an e-mail to Festival Classique via the e-mail address festival@festivalclassique.nl. We will erase the personal data and/or stop sending additional marketing information. An unsubscribe option is included in the newsletter e-mail we send you. If you make use of this option, you will no longer receive such messages.

  • Right of erasure

If you want Festival Classique to erase your processed personal data, a request for erasure may be sent to the e-mail address festival@festivalclassique.nl.

  • Restriction of processing

If you feel that Festival Classique needs to process less data in your case in order to comply with one of the principles for processing your personal data, you may request this by sending an e-mail stating the reasons to festival@festivalclassique.nl

  • Data portability

Data portability refers to the fact that the personal data provided by you may be made available to you again in a structured, socially accepted and machine-readable form. This is done on request by e-mail to festival@festivalclassique.nl

  • Withdrawal of consent

If any processing of your personal data is based on your consent, you have the right to withdraw this consent at all times. This withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of previous processing operations, but it does prevent new processing of personal data based on consent. Withdrawal may be addressed to festival@festivalclassique.nl or you may use the specific withdrawal options associated with the processing in question.

Complaint

If you have a complaint about the use or processing of personal data by Festival Classique, we will of course be happy to help you. If you and we cannot reach a solution, you have the right to submit a complaint to the Dutch Data Protection Authority. https://www.autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl/

Security

Festival Classique will take all appropriate technical and organisational measures that may reasonably be expected to protect your personal data against loss or any form of unlawful processing. Naturally, these measures are fully aligned with the applicable legislation and regulations and the current state of the art.

How do we handle the privacy of children under the age of 16?

Festival Classique has no intention of collecting data on website visitors under the age of 16. However, we are unable to check whether a visitor is older than 16. We therefore recommend parents to be involved in their children’s online activities to prevent data about children from being collected without parental consent. If you are convinced that we have collected personal data about a minor without that consent, please contact us at festival@festivalclassique.nl, we will then erase this data.

You may find links to other websites on the Festival Classique website. Festival Classique is not responsible for the handling of personal data by those parties. Please read the privacy statement of the relevant website.

This privacy statement may be subject to change. The changes will be announced on this page. We recommend that you consult this privacy statement regularly so that you are always aware of its contents.
