Aether | Scent and Sound Concert
Cellist/composer Maya Fridman and the inventor of aroma jockeying ODO7 together create a fascinating scent and sound concert. For this performance Maya Fridman selects and composes musical works that are subsequently expressed in scent by aroma jockey Erich Berghammer (ODO7). The premiere of this unique cooperation will take place at Festival Classique.
Scents have the ability to improve our perception, to restore lost memories and to let us perceive the world differently. Allow yourself to be immersed in a total experience of scent and sound. During this concert the public will wear blindfolds to give extra strength to your senses of hearing and smelling. If you don’t feel comfortable with a blindfold, merely closing your eyes is also an option, of course.

Tickets
The ticket includes a drink before or after the performance. We only work with hard cups with a deposit, except for coffee and tea. Pay the deposit (€3 per hardcup/person) in the ticket shop. When you return the hardcup you will get your money back.

Maya Fridman
Maya Fridman staat bekend om haar gepassioneerde optredens met een unieke mix van stijlen en genres. Haar concerten kenmerken zich door een achterliggende diepe filosofie en sterke thema’s. Haar werken richten zich op de ontwikkeling van hedendaagse muziek voor cello en stem. In 2019 won Maya de felbegeerde Dutch Classical Talent Award. Tijdens seizoen 2020/2021 was ze Artist in Residence bij TivoliVredenburg.
Erich Berghammer (ODO7)
Erich Berghammer bedacht in 2002 de term ‘Aroma Jockey’ met als doel de grenzen en vooroordelen van performancekunst te verleggen en muziek te vertalen in geur tijdens live-evenementen. “Mijn grootste inspiratie was dat geur een genegeerd medium was, zoiets als een verboden medium en slechts een paar creatieve geesten van onze planeet zouden geur beschouwen als een gebied van artistieke expressie.” De laatste twintig jaar treedt hij als realtime parfumeur over de hele wereld op onder zijn artiestennaam ODO7.
