Festival Classique presents the first reclining concert on Scheveningen’s beach! Bring your mat and blanket, close your eyes and allow yourself to be carried away by the enchanted sounds of famous Italian composer Ludovico Einaudi.
Following the sold-out Einaudi concert with Lavinia Meijer & Iris Hond during Festival Classique 2023, we are bringing Einaudi back to the beach for this edition. And this year with none other than internationally known pianist Jeroen van Veen. The combination of the open air, the beach and the sea makes this concert a unique experience that you don’t want to miss.
Programme
Einaudi became known to the general public through his soundtracks for the film ‘Intouchables’. Einaudi’s minimalist music is closely related to pop music and has stolen many hearts. The works on tonight’s programme for The Best of Einaudi are a combination of the iTunes and Spotify charts, supplemented with Einaudi’s own contrasting compositions written between 1996 and 2023.

Jeroen van Veen, piano
Jeroen van Veen (1969) is an award-winning pianist who trained at the Utrecht Conservatory, where he studied under the guidance of Alwin Bär and Hakon Austbö. His exceptional talent has earned him many prizes at various competitions and he shines on concert stages all over the world. Although Van Veen is considered by some critics to be the ultimate minimal music specialist, he has also collaborated with Robert Craft, among others, on performing the oeuvre of Igor Stravinsky for piano. With more than 250 CDs, five DVDs and six double LPs recorded for various labels, Van Veen has proven his versatility and craftsmanship. His versatile and impressive contributions have earned him a prominent place in the world of classical music.
Seating or lounging?
On the beach, Festival Classique places bleachers with wooden benches. You can also choose to lounge in the sand, in front of the stage, where you will experience the music even more intensely. A ticket for a berth includes a unique Festival Classique beach towel and a drink.
