Programme

HIIIT (formerly Slagwerk Den Haag) plays Glass Interludes: minimal music compositions by Glass and Fiumara.

The development of percussion and minimal music go hand in hand. Philip Glass is one of the pioneers in the field of minimal music. His early radical works are the source of inspiration for Glass Interludes. Dutch composer Anthony Fiumara is a great admirer of Philip Glass and has proven himself in recent years as a composer who can manoeuvre between different musical styles and spirits of the time. Especially for this project, he writes comments on a couple of revolutionary Glass works that caused a shock at the time. In addition, Fiumara adapted these gems from minimal music for a surprisingly unusual set of instruments.

Innovative sound virtuosos, performing artists and multi-deployable co-creators. The sound of HIIIT (formerly Slagwerk Den Haag) embraces diversity; from traditional percussion to unconventional sound sources such as porcelain and solar panels. HIIIT brings innovation and experimentation to an interdisciplinary arts field and explores new horizons together with artists.
