Programme

Woodcraft plays Woodcraft, unique music on the interface of classical and jazz, full of exciting improvisations and surprising close-harmony singing. An infectious experience through his own compositions and virtuosity.

The members of Woodcraft met in 2010 during De Muziekdagen in Orvelte. It is the start of a close friendship and their first band: Lang Leve de Lol. And today too, under the name Woodcraft, the joy continues. From their roots in classical music, Woodcraft has taken a unique route in recent years and experimented with new possibilities for their traditional instruments. Thanks to their unusual line-up of three cellos and two violins, the quintet has to rely on their own creativity and ingenuity. Woodcraft’s debut album from 2023 is characterised by unique compositions. Woodcraft won the jury and public award of the Dutch Jazz Competition in 2022 and performed at events such as North Sea Jazz and the Grachtenfestival. Two EPs and a new album are planned for 2024, as well as their own show at the Bimhuis during the Cello Biënnale.
